Mill Building Rehabilitations

The Foundry Restaurant, Manchester, NH

Back
Project Details

Located on the first floor of a Manchester historic brick mill building, along the river’s edge, this 8,480 sf restaurant features an open dining area with a raised center seating area, adjacent bar and two meeting rooms that can be used for private functions.

The early industrial themed décor of the space presented some unique challenges. Traditional structural steel members were used to create architectural features like railings and wall partitions. The bar and much of the built-in casework utilizes recycled long needle pine board. Even the lights over the dining tables are reworked original factory lighting fixtures.

Outside is an open deck for seasonal dining. It is constructed using composite decking with a black wrought iron style perimeter rail in keeping with the early industrial theme.
